I have worked in the mental health field for 20 years, in roles varying from case manager to behavioral health tech to behavioral health nurse. I am ANCC board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Arizona, a BS in Nursing from Northern Arizona University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Arizona State University. I have been a Registered Nurse since 2011 and a Nurse Practitioner since 2019. I went to nursing school with the intention of being a psychiatric nurse and ultimately a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

I am actively involved in suicide prevention efforts and have served on local NAMI and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) boards. Annually, I volunteer at the AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk and at the AFSP booth at Pride – where I dress up as a Mental Health Mermaid and educate the community about suicide prevention.

I grew up in a military family, which helped develop my interest in PTSD and helping current and former military members get access to the quality mental health care they deserve. I am also well versed in treating depression, anxiety, mood disorders and ADHD.

When I am not at work, I enjoy thrifting, hiking, walking my dogs, yoga and Pilates, tending to my many, many plants, and playing with my very active son. I currently see patients aged 16 to 75 and would be honored to meet with you and help you develop a robust treatment plan based on both medication management and healthy lifestyle changes. My goal as a provider is for you to feel heard and supported and to establish a collaborative approach to your well being.

Chief Medical Officer

I have been practicing as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for over 15 years and have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years. I completed my doctoral education in 2021, culminating in a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of Arizona.  I have also obtained Master’s and Bachelor’s level degrees in psychology/forensic psychology and have worked previously as a counselor.
My clinical practice is centered on the belief that improvement and progress are always possible, even if complete healing is not always attainable. I believe that mental health is not a singular destination; wellness is individualized, and every person can find balance and purposeful living. To do this, mental health should be considered from all angles, including biological, psychological, and social factors, which ensures comprehensive and holistic treatment. My treatment plans often include a combination of medication, supplements, vitamins, lifestyle adjustments, and recommendations for therapy.

As a PMHNP, I have worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, virtual
telemedicine, corrections, IOP, ACT, long-term care, and administration.  I have had the
pleasure of working with patients across the lifespan, from young children to the elderly.  Over
many years of practice, I have specialized in the treatment of ADHD, various pediatric disorders, autism, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorders, eating disorders, sleep-related disorders, dementia, and other related psychosis disorders.

I have also enjoyed working at the University of Arizona as a Clinical Supervising Faculty for
several years.  As an educator, I hope to help students become highly accomplished
psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioners who are confident in their abilities to help others.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and pets, all of which keep me quite busy. I am often taking my kids to and from soccer and tennis practices and games. For my own wellbeing, I enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and maintaining an active lifestyle by running, boxing, hiking, and golfing. I am currently accepting new patients aged 4 through the lifespan.  I look forward to working with you on your own unique mental health journey.

I am an Arizona native but have lived in multiple states throughout the West. In my free time I'm usually found outdoors with my dog, hiking, birding, biking, or spending time with my family and friends.

I started my nursing career in mental health over ten years ago and I have been practicing as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since graduating from Gonzaga University in 2023. Throughout my career I have worked medical and psych in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and administration. My clinical experience includes a wide range of mental health conditions with a specific focus on anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, insomnia, and PTSD.

I truly enjoy listening to my patients and I strive to provide a comfortable and personable environment. When it comes to mental health, it's important to find the approach that works best for each individual, whether that's western medicine, eastern medicine, lifestyle modifications, different types of talk therapy, or a combination. I look forward to connecting with my patients to find individualized and holistic treatment plans together!

I have been a nurse since 2016 and completed my Family Nurse Practitioner training at the University of Colorado in 2020. I later earned a post-master’s certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2025. My clinical foundation was strengthened through an APRN residency with El Rio Health in 2021, and my commitment to underserved and rural communities has been recognized through an HRSA fellowship and a Nurse Corps scholarship.

My work is grounded in a holistic view of mental health that blends my background in family practice with a collaborative, patient-centered approach to psychiatric care. I prioritize shared decision-making and strive to integrate biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle factors when developing treatment plans.

My clinical focus includes depression, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and co-occurring personality disorders. I also bring extensive experience in adolescent mental health from my years in family practice.

Outside of my clinical work, I am an avid cyclist and gardener and enjoy spending time with my two dogs. I value the opportunity to support individuals and families in achieving meaningful, sustainable improvements in their well-being.

I grew up in a small town in Central Arkansas. I graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 2022 with a Bachelors of Art in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice.

Soon after I graduated, I decided to make the exciting decision to move to Arizona.
Making the move from Arkansas to Arizona was a great change of pace. Allowing me to create new connections and explore more opportunities. I am hoping to create an environment where I can give comfort to those who are on their mental health journey.  In my spare time I enjoy drawing, and playing video games.

Brad Stoddard - CEO

Brad Stoddard is the founder of Sunrise Mental Health. After calling around Tucson for several days looking for a mental health provider he became frustrated with the options. Long wait times and nobody would call him back. He started Sunrise Mental Health with the goal of being different. He states "most places call you back in 48 hours and our goal is to call you back as soon as possible".  Brad is passionate about mental health. People close to him suffer from depression and anxiety and Brad has been diagnosed with ADHD. This has fueled his drive to reach out to people who have these challenges and bring hope back to their lives. He has said, "I love hearing how we were able to work with someone who thinks life isn't worth living and help them enjoy life again! Also, it is very satisfying to help someone go from failing at school or work to excelling once they are treated for ADHD". Call us today to see how we can improve your life. Don't wait any longer to start to feel better!
